Harnessing the Power of Sport to Combat Alcoholism
Empowering Young People through Soccer to fight alcoholism
At the Jeremy Damaris Foundation, we recognize the critical role that sports play in shaping the lives of young people. Through our Youth Soccer Empowerment initiative, we use soccer as a tool to engage, inspire, and empower youth to lead healthy and productive lives, while actively fighting the challenges of alcoholism and substance abuse in their communities.
Our efforts include:
- Organized Soccer Programs: Providing a positive outlet through structured soccer leagues and tournaments, offering young people a platform to develop their talents and focus their energy on sports.
- Alcoholism Awareness: Partnering with local health experts and community leaders to educate young people on the dangers of alcohol abuse and promote a healthy lifestyle.
- Mentorship and Guidance: Pairing youth with experienced mentors, including coaches and former athletes, who provide guidance, support, and encouragement to make positive life choices.
- Building Life Skills: Beyond sports, our program focuses on instilling discipline, teamwork, leadership, and goal-setting, equipping young people with essential life skills that help them stay focused on their future.
By using soccer as a vehicle for change, the Jeremy Damaris Foundation is creating a supportive community that empowers young people to rise above the challenges of alcoholism and become positive role models in their communities.
